In a tragic and disturbing incident that unfolded in Bama, Borno State, a 50-year-old man named Modu Isa attempted to take his own life in a horrifying manner. The event occurred on a Friday evening in Hausari Ward and was brought to public attention by concerned community members who quickly intervened to rescue him.

According to eyewitness accounts shared with Zagazola Makama, Isa inflicted severe injuries on himself by stabbing his stomach three times. In an even more extreme act of self-harm, he proceeded to cut off his own penis with a knife. The motive behind this desperate and gruesome act was reportedly linked to personal and marital problems. Isa’s former wife, Bayanxe Modu of Konduga, had refused to return to his home despite having divorced him three times, which deeply distressed him and drove him to attempt suicide.
